Snap-on Incorporated, a US$2.9-billion NYSE-listed company headquartered in the US, has been manufacturing quality tools for more than 90 years. The comprehensive & sought –after range includes hand tools, power tools, tool storage, garage and diagnostic equipment. Snap-on has been named a top non-food franchise in the USA, UK and Australia for many years. Authorised Dealers in S.A. purchase tools at discounted prices and resell them to a primary customer base comprising of Automotive & Aircraft Technicians, in an Exclusive territory. Dealers will require a Panel van type vehicle, to be approved by Snap-on Africa (SOA) to showcase their tools in, and to deliver a personalised, professional service. The Dealership Expansion Programme allows dealers to grow by either adding a second van to their existing territory, or by purchasing an additional territory. Training is the cornerstone of this business, and new Dealers spend a rigorous first week at Head Office in Durban, learning the basics of the business.
This is followed by In-territory training, carried out by an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) who accompanies Dealers on their route for an initial period of two to three weeks to train them in the day-to-day aspects of the business. The BDM and key product specialists, offer training & support to the Dealer on an ongoing basis at regular meetings to develop the Dealer's business and offer advice on all aspects of the business.
A Snap-on Dealership requires a minimum investment of R150,000 (excl. Vat). If more funds are available, this will be beneficial to your business and can be discussed on application. An amount will be required for shop-fitting to approved standards of the SOA approved Panel van, which SOA can offer finance for over an agreed period, if required.
