Exclusive Territory

Authorised Dealers in S.A. operate independently, managing their own businesses, marketing Snap-on and other Snap-on Incorporated owned brands to a primary customer base comprising of Automotive & Aircraft workshops & technicians, in an Exclusive territory.

Mobile Tool Store

Dealers operate from an approved range of “panel van” type vehicles. The mobile store includes customised fittings resulting in a functional & attractive tool store with custom shelving, lighting & Point of Purchase display areas to encourage the sale of stock directly off the van.

Mobile office

The Business model comes complete with on-line tablet PC, affordable customised business software, on-board printer & credit card machine. All business transactions including quoting,  invoicing & stock control is done from the van.

Expansion programme

The Dealership Expansion Programme allows Dealers to grow their business by either adding a second van to their existing territory, or by purchasing an additional territory.

Training

Training is the cornerstone of this business, and new Dealers spend a rigorous first week at the National Distribution Centre in Durban, learning the basics of the business. This is followed by In-territory training, carried out by an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) who accompanies Dealers on their route for an initial period of two to three weeks to mentor and assist in the day-to-day running of the business.

On-going support

The BDM and key product specialists, extend training & support to the Dealer on an on-going basis at regular meetings to develop the Dealer's business and offer advice on all aspects of the business.

Investment

A Snap-on Dealership requires a minimum investment of R150,000. If more funds are available, this will be beneficial to your business and can be discussed on application. An amount will be required for shop-fitting of the preferred type of Mobile Tool Store, which SOA can offer finance for over an agreed period, if required.
